As promised, Garret was bringing chinese takeout to Lloyd. The smell of it was making him a bit sick, but part of that neausea was guilt anyway. Cherry had been right, he needed to tell Lloyd what had happened between them. Garret needed to tell Lloyd everything. He was very stupid when it came to Lloyd, and he hated it. Granted, Garret had always had a temper and he'd always been jealous, but something about Lloyd brought out the worst in him.
It was four thirty (according to his father's pocket watch) when he arrived at Lloyd's door. A fair bit earlier than they had agreed on, but Garret found he couldn't sleep. So after drinking an entire pitcher of water he'd passed out on the couch for almost three hours, needed to pee like mad and then couldn't fall back asleep. At least his head wasn't throbbing anymore.
Knocking, Garret was anxious. He masked it well behind an easy smile but his stomach was in knots. Lloyd was not going to forgive him this time. Why would he? Obviously he could do a great deal better with his pick of students. A scowl crossed his lips just as the door opened, and he quickly replaced it with a smile. "I'm early," he said. There had been a lot more he'd wanted to say, something cute and charming. But seeing Lloyd's face was like a punch in the stomach, and his gusto was momentarily stolen from him.
