Will had made the suggestion himself even if he wasn't aware of it. He had said that she should always give people the unexpected, or something like that, and this was, well, exactly that. Cissy had never asked anyone out before. She would assume it, say things like "You're taking me out friday night", but she never asked someone. Asking meant that they could say no and.. well she didn't deal all that well with rejection. But she had asked. And he had accepted. And here they were.
There was a reason behind the madness though, and it wasn't just a feeble attempt to make Simon jealous even if a small part of her secretly hoped that it would make him realize that he didn't want to see her with anyone else and therefore must still be in love with her. Mostly she had asked Will because, well, he was different. He didn't fawn over her, for one, and probably thought himself far more attractive than she was, and he wasn't intimidated by her like most men were. He hadn't even thought of backing down when she'd allowed her temper to lash out at him and that was nice. He didn't seem very sensitive. And that's the sort of person she needed to be around if she were to be around anyone at all right now, someone that could handle it and not take it personally because she really was a bit of a roller coaster. She also definitely wasn't looking for anything remotely serious and he definitely didn't seem the type of guy that would fall head over heels for anyone, much less her. They could have fun together, and would. And maybe, by the time the night was through, they may even become friends, and it never hurt having more friends.
The first thing Cissy thought when she saw Will was how nicely their outfits would compliment one another. They hadn't dressed alike by any means, but the color schemes they'd settled on contrasted with one another nicely. And the color her dress not only brought out the color of her eyes, but it would bring out the color of his as well when they were near enough to one another.
"Hey." Cissy greeted the man with a smile. "Did I or did I not ask you out?" One of her biggest pet peeves was when a man asked her out and then expected her to tell him where she wanted to go. It was his job to make that decision, just like it was his job to pay for it. And she'd do both since she had asked. It was kind of fun doing the whole role reversal thing for a change. She offered him an arm so they could head out towards the cab.
"First, we're going to hit the West Side Grill. They have incredible food and one hell of a bar, or so I've been told. I figure we can grab a bite to eat, talk or whatever, you can have a couple of drinks to get warmed up and then... Ever been to The Warehouse?" From what she had heard, it was a little more low-key than some of the clubs in the area but it was by no means dead or boring. The crowd there was just nicer, a little less rough than it sometimes got in other places, and that was important considering that she did have Bump in her belly.
