Ava had heard him coming from the kitchen but didn't want to freak Maggie out by heading for or looking at the door before he actually made himself know, she considered it common courtesy to sometimes pretend you didn't have freaky senses. When he popped his head in though she did look up and to him, smiling. Pretty soon Maggie brought her attention back with the hug and Ava smiled to her, something almost maternal stirred in her at that. It was scary how easy it was to like the girl.
When she ran off Ava's eyes switched to looking absolutely terrified, although she was still smiling and even laughed slightly in a slightly shocky way, right up until her husband came over to her of course. Allowing herself to be wrapped up in just him, his smell, his body, just the comfort of him. She could do this. Maggie wasn't as scary as she thought and it made Charlie happy that they liked each other. She could do this.
Damn the doorbell ringing and making them part. Laughing and rolling her eyes at the ass slap and being called simply 'wife' she followed him at a slower pace, running her fingers through her hair and adjusting her dress. She didn't really need to change so she may as well go to the door, noticing the table was already set along the way.
