Who: Daigo and Katie When: Sunday 1/20/08 around 6.30pm What: Daigo doesn't remember Katie Where Daigo's room
Daigo: *A strange wave sweeps over. Daigo is sitting at his desk typing up a paper when he stops, glances around, rereads his work and shakes his head before speaking in Japanese.* What's this? This isn't company document. *He looks over his shoulder and stands up, completely shocked. The chair knocks over and he nearly topples the books on the desk to the floor. He sees Katie, the strange dorm room that is not his office, and gapes.* Katie: *Katie is curled up on Daigo's bed leaning against the wall, typing on her laptop. She has a few books open around her and was referring to them every so often. Suddenly she got a little dizzy. She bent her head down until the feeling passes. She hears a chair topple over. She looks up and gasps as she see's Daigo. She feels an overwhelming rush of love for her boyfriend pour over her and settle in her heart. She smiles at him. "Are you alright?" Daigo: Ah....no. *He shakes his head after a long pause and feels around the desk for support before leaning on it.* I...who are you? Why are you...here? Better yet, why am I here? *His head motions toward the room with a quick tilt.* This isn't my office or apartment. Katie: *Katie looks concernedly at Daigo.* It's me Katie... your girlfriend? *She looks around puzzled by his question.* This is your room. You are at a school for supernaturals because you started losing control over your shape shifting.* Daigo: *Walking toward the foot of the bed, hands on the edge, he smirks at her.* Right. Ah, Katie? I'm sorry if this comes off as rude but...I don't have the time to date, for one. And I don't know how you know about what I do, but I don't lose control over it, either. *He sounds as kind as he can, clearly attempting to dispatch this woman from the space that had been dubbed as his room.* I graduated college years ago. I don't attend school. Katie: *Katie's eyes grew wide as she listened to Daigo.* If you don't have time to date then why did you ask me to be your girlfriend? *She shakes her head* No no no something is wrong here. You have been here at this school trying to get control of your shape shifting back under control. We met here. A lot of people here graduated college years ago. We still go here. *Katie was being to become concerned that something had happened to Daigo. Why wasn't he remembering her?* Daigo: *He looked at Katie and sighed softly. He wasn't sure if he wanted to be more concerned with the fact that she knew about his shape shifting, which was supposed to be under wraps, or the fact that she thought they were dating.* My boss always tells me to get out, but I have too much work to do. Do you know how long it takes to break a person to make our contracts? Katie: *Katie shook her head again. "I don't care how long it takes, I want to know why you don't remember anything I am telling you. Do I need to call Nana, or Daisuke or Sakeme? Hell you are worrying me enough that I am willing to call Sousuke if I thought he'd actually answer the phone. Daigo: How do you know about my siblings? Katie: Katie sighs, she gets this odd pull of anger, but suppresses it. "I know them. I have met them all, over Christmas break." Daigo: *Looking around, Daigo turns to his laptop and remains quiet for a long time before picking up his cell phone and pressing a few buttons. He holds it out to Katie with a serious expression, though he half expects this to be a prank.* It's Sakeme. *Sakeme does not play jokes, he knows.* Katie: *Katie takes the phone from Daigo and puts it to her ear. She listens to it ring a couple of times before it picks up.* Sakeme? *She asks* It's Katie. I am sorry to call so early, but I am worried about Daigo. We were in his room doing some class work and suddenly he doesn't remember me or the school. I don't know what to do." *She listens for a few minutes nodding and then hands the phone back to Daigo. "She want's to talk to you." Daigo: *Taking back the phone, Daigo and his elder sister exchange words before he looks down at Katie on the bed, putting his cell back on the desk.* I'm all for believing in the supernatural, everything considered. I'm sorry I didn't believe you....I just.....*He shakes his head sadly.* I don't remember anything you've told me. Katie: Katie begins to feel like crying. The man that she loves with all of her being doesn't remember her. She looks down at her laptop blinking rapidly to keep the tears at bay. She had no idea what had happened one moment they had been enjoying each others company and the next he didn't remember anything"Do you want me to leave? I am worried about your memory lose, and I don't want to go, but I love you and if that is what you want... I will go." Daigo: *Sitting on the bed edge, Daigo shakes his head.* You love me? Katie: *Katie looks away, refusing to meet his eyes. She doesn't want him to see her cry. She begins stacking her school books together.* Yes, I love you. Daigo: *Putting his hands on top of her books, he moves off of the bed to stand in front of her.* Not to sound desperate, but I'd really like you to stay...I have a feeling I should know you, since you're obviously here. But I don't. And that worries me. *He smirks to try and soften the tension.* And you're really cute. Katie: *Katie stops what she is doing.* You didn't want me here a few minutes ago, I could tell by your voice. Why would you want me to stay now? What could Sakeme say that would change your mind like that? " * She looks down at her hands clenched togeather in her lap* It worries me too. Daigo: She summed up the holidays. She told me how you came to Japan with me, and we were happy. Sakeme told me I never looked happier. And she said we were inseparable. I've never known Sakeme to lie, and I'm sorry I thought you were. *He looks with shame over his shoulder, like he's looking at the past he doesn't recall.* Do I have amnesia? Did I hit my head? Katie: *Katie smiles at the memory of their holidays.* It was the best holiday season I have ever had. *Katie looks up at Daigo finally.* I don't know. I was sitting here and we were talking, then I got dizzy. I heard the chair fall over, but you were standing up when I looked up, so I don't think you could have.. Hang on a second. * Katie pulls out her cell phone and dials. She murmurs into the phone quickly. Daigo would be able to tell that she was talking to someone named Nox, whom she calls dad at one point. Katie seems to get agrivated the more she talks to him. Finally her eyes flash with anger at what her father said.* Fine I will get a hold of you when you aren't acting like a complete jerk! * She hangs up and throws her phone across the room where it lands on the other bed harmlessly. Looking back up at Daigo she struggles to keep her temper back under control.* I don't think it is just you, something it going on with Nox as well. He's acting completely unlike himself, which isn't good, he's the director of this school. Daigo: *Frowning, Daigo watches the phone before turning back to Katie. He doesn't remember how he held her only hours or days before, or the way he kisses her, but he knows something is wrong. Trusting his heart, rather than his mind, he reaches out for Katie and pulls her near.* It's okay. If this is a supernatural school, then something just went wrong.... Katie: *Katie curls up next to Daigo, her head resting on his shoulder.* Something is really wrong, I can feel it. I keep getting the urge to do things against my nature, but I am fighting it, Nox, my dad, he's not even doing that. If something went wrong, won't we need his help to make it right? He's the director! *She sighs and hides her eyes against Daigo's shoulder. She was grateful that he hadn't sent her away. Daigo: *Putting a hand lightly on the back of Katie's head, he holds her gently and pulls her further onto his lap.* I don't know....We'll just stay here? In a normal situation, I'd say I'd take care of it, but I'm not in the right mind too.... Katie: We can't just stay here *she murmurs against his shoulder as she cuddles up closer with him.* For one thing we don't know the extint of what happened let alone what is going on in the rest of the school, nor do we know how long this is going to be going on for. Another point, we will have to leave this room to find food sometime. Daigo: Well I didn't mean stay here forever. *He chuckles and shakes his head.* I just meant, for now... *Daigo chuckles again.* I feel like one of Nana's TV shows.... Katie: *Katie laughs lightly.* I see. * She leans back a little so that she can look into his eyes. * One of Nana's shows? How so? Daigo: *With a small smirk, he teases,* It just doesn't make any sense, like something magical just happened. And your the heroine here to save me from whatever happened. *Daigo laughs loudly, leaning his head back.* I never liked those kinds of anime. Katie: It makes no sense. I think what ever it was that made me dizzy, I think that is what did all of this. Daigo: *He nods.* Well, what do you want to do now? If it just happened a few minutes ago, I doubt we can do anything about it now. Katie: *Katie leans her head against Daigo's shoulder again.* I am happy to be able to be with the man I love, regardless of anything else going on. Daigo: *Smiling, he kisses the top of her head.* I'm glad you're here, too. Katie: *Katie leans up without thinking and kisses Daigo. Then remembering that he doesn't remember her she pulls back suddenly.* I am sorry, I shouldn't have done that when you don't remember who I am. Daigo: *Grinning, Daigo shakes his head and puts a hand on her jaw.* Maybe it'll help. *He leans down and kisses her in return.* Katie: * Katie smiles as she kisses Daigo deeply. She suddenly wishes that they could stay here forever. She was perfectly happy in his arms, kissing him. She didn't think that she could possibly love him anymore than she already did but she just felt it growing until she felt that her heart would burst. Daigo: *After a break in the kiss, Daigo pulls back and looks down at her. He's quiet for a moment before making a face.* Katie? Did we kiss a lot? Katie: *Katie blushed a little bit and then smiles at Daigo* Define a lot? Daigo: *He grins and shrugs.* Can I take that as a yes? Katie: *Katie nods* unless you have a strange defination of a lot. Why do you ask? Daigo: Curious. *He shakes his head, pauses, and looks back at her like a thought dawns on him.* Have we....hn? Katie: *Katie looks at him a little puzzled* Have we what? Daigo: It's not vital. *Daigo smirks to himself, continuing to feel stupid he doesn't know anything about his life. At least his recent past.* Katie: *Katie shrugs and pulls her laptop over to her. She quickly went through the schools journal system to see if anything had changed on there.* Either not to many people are being affected by this, or everyone is. There is no online school activity at all. Daigo: They probably haven't noticed it yet. Katie: ahh well. * Katie closes her laptop and tosses it lightly back to where it had been sitting.* What do you want to do now? *She asks, right before she wraps her arms around his neck and kisses him again deeply.* Daigo: *Kissing her deeply in return, Daigo puts his arms around her middle and pulls her close once more.* That's up to you. Katie: *Katie knew what her body was telling her she wanted to do at that moment. She almost gave into that, but she knew it was wrong to go to far with Daigo when his memory was gone. She wasn't feeling completely herself either so she didn't want to do anything they may regret later. She held on to him instead.* Daigo: *He wouldn't have minded, to be honest, and would hopefully remember after the fact. Until then, however, he kept his arms around her slender waist and kissed her lips before moving to her jaw quietly.* Thank you. Katie: * Katie sighs happily* Thank you for what? Daigo: For not leaving. It's nice not to see someone go. *He smiles and continues to kiss down her jaw and neck slowly.* Katie: *Katie looks startled* You asked me to stay. I love you so much I want to spend as much time as I can with you. We are typically very busy during the week, but the weekends... well those are ours. Daigo: Then I'm going to go out on a limb and say the weekends are my favorite part of the week. Katie: Mine too. *Katie snuggles into Daigo's chest happily, for the moment not caring about anything happening beyond that room. World War three could have broken out and she just couldn't care, not when she had Daigo here all to herself.* Daigo: *Happy to have her hear, Daigo looks blindly at the wall wishing he could remember her. The last thing he recalls are his bosses orders for paperwork due tomorrow and an invite to watch football with some work friends. After that he can't remember anything. Not his problem with his shifting, the school, Katie. Nothing.* Do you think when this is over I'll remember what happened now? Katie: I hope so. I hope when this is all over you will remember everything that you have forgotten as well. *Katie's forehead creases with worry. She doesn't like that Daigo has lost a chunk of his memory. She hoped with all her heart that he would remember soon* Daigo: *He nods.* I want to remember. I feel stupid that I can't. I feel like an idiot for having not known who you were, or where I was, or what I was doing. I want my life back because, as far as I can tell, part of it is missing. *Pausing, Daigo looks across the room at the calendar.* It's 2008? Katie: *Katie nods solemnly* It is January 2008 almost February. Daigo: Hmmm...I remember it being 2007. Early January. I just got back from my vacation. Katie: *Katie nods* so you have lost about a year. *She glances at the clock.* Maybe we should get some sleep, maybe things will be different in the morning?*When he agreed she moved her things off of his bed and then sat down on it.* I have been staying over night lately, which is why I was here tonight, but if you'd like me to go I can. *When he indicated that she should stay she was relieved. He got into the bed pulling her in his arms and shutting off the light. Katie curled up held comfortably in his arms. They talked about what they would do in the morning for a while before Katie was pulled comfortably into sleep.*
