Fisher held up a hand over his shoulder, indicating William needed to cease question for the moment. "First of all, I thought you were supposed to listen to your conscience," he argued to Haddon. I'm listening to my common sense which has proven time and again that if I stick around in a situation like this, I'm gonna do something stupid. But now you're telling me that I should stay because he needs me to, even though he's mad at me?" He gave Haddon a scrutinizing look, clearly not buying it.
