He stood up and walked over to the covered Timpani's and set about uncovering them, as he pocketed the drums ticks and pulled out some softer mallets. "Just seeing how it goes? So you're undisciplined at that? You think you just pick up an instrument and that's that?"
He shook his head, a smile on his face, out of shock rather than joy. "Oh yes, that is what the people like now isn't it? Two bit hacks who can barely play their instruments doing the same trite things so that no one has to think about what they're listening to, they can just listen to it until the next trite work comes out."
He leaned his head close to the exposed percussion instruments, setting about tuning them. Not surprisingly they weren't very well in tune. "Think of it this way, would you hand a novice a real sword and then tell them to go off sparring? Or would you start them off with a practice sword and tell them to practice before they hurt themselves?"
