Pearl snortlaughed and rolled her eyes at him in amusement. "I think you'd notice way before he had a chance to drain you dry. It's not like you're defenceless, you could fight back if it came to it I think. Besides, he even touches you with a fang and I'll be there beating him. No-one gets to pick on you except me." And there was that protective nature slipping in, even if she was making a joke of it all. There was more than one reason she wanted to check Lyle out. She needed to know he was a good guy for Jacob's roommate.
"If you puke all over the food I'll never forgive you." Her nose wrinkled at the thought, still joking. "Please don't vomit at the table." She was distracted by the hair tickling though and she wriggled and giggled. "Brat" Her tongue being poked out at him.
She knew he'd struggle to set a truly good hex without her help so she wasn't too worried by the fact he was only 'hesitant'. "Did Peyton even give you a reason for why she wanted to hurt this guy? Wait, this isn't her best friend is it? She was saying something about hating a best friend at the moment." Of course why she thought Jacob would know who Peyton's best friend was she didn't know. "I'll keep an eye out for this Frankie woman though. What's she like apart from nice , in love and a fire sprite?" Pearl would beat him over the head if he were to say out loud that he thought he was uninteresting and didn't need friends. She was already weighing up how likely the people he was talking about were to get closer to him. She wanted him to be happy, and even if he thought he didn't need friends to be happy she wanted him to have more people than just her to talk to.
"Talk about cars or bikes or.... or the cocktails! You can try out a couple of different cocktails and talk about them if you get really stuck!" Pearl suggested enthusiastically, even though she knew that sounded a little desperate of a conversation starter.
