"Almost any word you can think of comes from something in Latin." She informed him. It was by far her favorite subject all throughout her school years. And that was why she had excelled at it so, though she had excelled at so many different things. But really, it made everything else so much easier to know where root words came from. "Wonderful!" She said when he had decided to go for it. "But you have to fill out your own forms. I'm only here to give you advice on it."
She recognized the change in his tone the minute that he said it, and she frowned a little, a hand reaching out to touch his arm. "I know it's not idea or anything. I mean, I would have loved to have gone to a regular school with normal children but.. sometimes I sprout wings for no apparent reason." She laughed. "Can you imagine how horrid that would be? Couldn't explain that one away, could I?" Her smile softened. "We were dealt hands that won't really allow us normal lives just yet, but that doesn't mean that it has to be that way forever. You're young and your skills are perfectly containable, unlike some of the others here. I see absolutely no reason why you won't be able to go out there in the world in a couple of years and do anything you want to do with your life." She nodded affirmatively, and gave his arm a bit of a squeeze before she moved her hand away.
"Well that's a very noble profession." She smiled sincerely. "My father works with his hands. Carpentry mostly though he dabbles in this and that. Built our house back home with his own two hands." Clearly she loved her father. "He always said that you can tell a man by his hands and a real man has rough hands from all the hard work he does." She searched his face for just a moment, debating something. "Tell you what. You do good, keep your grades up, and I will see if maybe Mr. Jao could use your assistance now and again. He's our IT fellow and he knows a great deal about most everything, repairs a lot more than just broken computers and such. The man's a mechanical genius. I'm sure he could at least give you a good base to build up from."
