Kim's eyebrows stayed furrowed as she looked at his hands again. "You didn't wrap your hands, did you?" It was more of a statement, than a question. And she didn't like how he was brushing it off like it was nothing. Broken bones sucked and she felt responsible for what he had done to himself. In her eyes, letting off steam like that was fine. And Ed didn't know what Starbuck was truly like. He wasn't unstable at all. You couldn't judge him on an isolated incident.
Feeling the need to further get the point across, she continued on. "My relationship with him is.. complicated.. but he's always been there for me when I needed him the most." Well, technically not always since he had left the house a few years before she did. Nonetheless, he helped her a great deal in her formative years. "I don't think I'd be as strong as I am today if it wasn't for him.."
Slowly, Kim followed him over to the couch and sat down. Her nerves just weren't seeming to go away and she hated that. "Yeah," she said, nodding slightly at his question. "I had to talk to him. It just didn't go that well.." Looking down at her hands, she fiddled around with the sleeves of her hoodie. Her argument with Ed last night had been so horrible and it was part of the reason why she was still so shaken up today. "You did?" she asked as she looked back up at him a little worried. On some level, Ed didn't really deserve an apology from Starbuck and she wondered if Ed had chewed him out again. It was just something that was inevitable.
