I have had what appears to be thyroid-related frozen shoulder issues for almost a year now, and am also experiencing what my GP has diagnosed as a connective tissue disorder of unknown origin. This has appeared as symptoms in the right arm similar to frozen shoulder, as well as hip pain, sore molars, stiff ankles and a variety of seemingly unrelated symptoms. These all nearly vanished with 20 mg a day of prednisone, and then promptly returned within days of discontinuing it. All tests for inflammation and other potential causes such as lupus have turned up negative. I am curious if anyone else has heard of similar problems among people with autoimmune low thyroid issues? (I am currently being treated for that with 1.75 mg of Synthroid). |

I got a link to this article in a newsletter from Medscape yesterday and thought I'd share it. Medscape is mostly for physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, but anyone can register on the site, and registration is free. The full article can be found here, since the tables didn't make it through c/p here. ( The Impact of Thyroid Eye Disease Upon Patients' Wellbeing: A Qualitative Analysis ) |

Hy, I have got a question. I just got my blood test results back from my Thyroids and have to go to the doctor to get right treatment. The question is, do I have to stop taking the pill if I should get any medication for the thyroids? Thanks in advance, Moony |

I'm wondering what resources you've all found online that are reliable for these type of disorders for information on the sisease ans treatment? Is any one site particularly good? I have hypothyroidism. I take a small does of synthroid. |

Hello! I'm in the process of migrating over from LJ. I've always found the LJ thyroid community helpful and informative. I'm hoping that we can create a similar atmosphere here we we can commiserate about thyroid disorders, share knowledge and helpful hints, and provide moral support through the ups and downs of the mess of thyroid problems. Feel free to post an introduction if you like or just jump right in with questions and discussion. I look forward to getting to know more people here and sharing knowledge! Cheers! |
