Sample post: After his visit to Ryo and the surprise visit from Sakura, it seemed that Kiba had much more to mull over than he initially intended. The baggage that was his relationship with Morrie wasn't going to go away and as he was finding out, it couldn't be replaced with someone else or another substance.
In truth, he couldn't. He had his daughter and career to worry about. The last thing he wanted to do was destroy both over a bad relationship that he couldn't get over. It was the one hurdle he couldn't clear, or so it seemed. Ryo would listen, he'd been there when things fell apart. Toshi on the other hand, wanted blood. He wanted blood that he would never get. There was no reason for it and Morrie had made it clear that things were over.
That night, it was like visiting a sage.
They had sat there, in the darkness of Ryo's living room, all three of them bathed in shadows and flickering candle light, his eyes fixed on Sakura as he spoke. He had said things that opened his eyes to the situation he was in. To what he needed to do, but Kiba knew that he would have to put a great deal of thought into it before he made a move.
The evening had seemed surreal, the freak thunderstorm and the discussion they'd had, the fact that Ryo hinted at his true relationship with Den... and it wasn't like that mattered, it had only confirmed his suspicions. The wine flowed freely and Kiba had ended up sleeping on Ryo's couch as he'd been too drunk to get himself home. The gears had been set into motion, Kiba found himself looking inward.
Maybe he was looking too hard or maybe he was just looking for a hook up. Toshi wasn't going to be The One or The Hook Up, he could see it now. He'd played his games and now he was paying for it. Kiba was doing the very thing he'd asked Morrie not to do in the very beginning. It was troublesome and so far their working relationship was fine, but it was the private relationship that he was more concerned about.
And only time would tell.
