Sera was trying, honestly, she was. Being at this event with Greg meant the world to her, especially given how fearful he had been about sharing her with other people before. Originally it was made very clear that they were to be a secret, he didn’t want to take any risks, but now with him choosing against that, she didn’t want to make him look bad. Meeting his mother had been an experience that was for sure. While Sera was absolutely respectful and sweet, all she really wanted to do was go hide under one of the tables for a while until everything stopped making her feel dizzy and sick to her stomach.
She was grateful, however, when he skipped over the meeting with his father in favor of meeting with other mates of his. Even the brief moments she was able to share with Lisa and her date had been worth it. She felt guilty still, she didn’t know if that would ever go away, about what happened with Greg and Lisa. Had she known, she never would have invited Greg back into her life, especially not when she knew that Lisa had started to develop feelings for him or worse that Greg had as well. That guilt that she’d stopped them from developing more, was terrible.
Honestly, there was a part of Sera that did worry that Greg still had feelings for Lisa. While he said it was nothing, he had mentioned that he’d never be able to read ‘Poe’ again because of her and Sera had a good enough imagination and knew Greg’s kinky side enough to know that there was more to it than just reading. It did – honestly it pissed her off a lot, he’d been intimate with one of her friends!
At the same time she knew that it wasn’t entirely their fault. Well at least it wasn’t Lisa’s fault. Greg made his choices and how could she blame her friend when in fairness, Lisa had never known Greg’s name? Sera had never told her anything beyond she’d become entangled in a one-night stand that became more and eventually had had to cut things off because of feelings. But Greg knew better. He knew who Sera was and that Lisa was her friend.
Or maybe, it was her really not feeling good bringing all this up. She wasn’t feeling hormonal or anything, just sick and tired – literally and metaphorically. It was a lot. Greg’s life was just a lot.
“What?” Sera was pulled from her thoughts as she looked up at Greg where they stood. Was she all right? She wasn’t eating or drinking? She flushed a little and looked down embarrassed. “I’m not really feeling well,” she admitted softly. “I’ve been a little dizzy and nauseated all day. I think either I’m coming down with something or I was training too hard to make up for missing it last time I had one scheduled. Bones seriously kicked my ass.” Not that she minded. It was good training but still. “Do you think we could leave? If it’s not rude?”
