Seamus was not unaware of what had transpired the night before and the train wreck it had become for everyone involved. He’d been happily smoking and decided to flip through his journal on his break when he’d noticed everything going on. At first, he tried to let it go and not bother him. But, the more that transpired, the more comments he saw and the more even her friends began speaking about her obvious affection for someone else, the harder it was for him to ignore.
Seamus wasn’t an idiot. He knew that Hannah wasn’t in love with him. Hell, he wasn’t necessarily ‘in love’ with her either. But they had fun. He figured they could see where things went but obviously that wasn’t in the cards for them. Which was fine. If she was ‘in love’ with someone else, he could understand that. He just would have preferred she say something to him before announcing it, or allowing her mates to announce it, to the world around them.
After getting off his shift, he saw that Hannah wrote him and as much as he wanted to let them both speak? It wasn’t the right time and over the journals or at her work didn’t seem the proper place. Yes, he was upset, yes, he did have all kinds of emotions about what had transpired, but he wasn’t going to air his dirty laundry and he certainly wasn’t about to take it to her work. If nothing else, he knew it was unprofessional and she needed her job. He wasn’t the kind of man that would embarrass her in public.
Honestly, that was part of the reason he refused to argue or engage with Zacharias when he was spouting off all his insincere pity. She didn’t deserve a mate that would throw her under the knight bus like that. She was doing things that were obviously stupid and creating all sorts of drama. But mates should stand by one another and not cause more drama. At least in his estimation.
So instead of fighting with her or having their talk when it wasn’t the right time, Seamus went home and went to sleep. Upon waking up, he showered and got dressed and prepared for work before he apparated to her flat. He’d been there more than once, although this time was likely to be their last. Instead of knocking though, considering she was expecting him, Seamus let himself in and moved into the sitting area to find her.
“How are you feeling?” It was the first thing he said because ultimately that was the most important part of all of this. He knew she’d been drinking heavily and he wanted to ensure she was alright.
