Cepheus didn't even think about the next move he made. One minute he had been seated next to Europa and in the next he was kneeling in front of her, hands wrapped firmly around her wrists as he stared up at her. This - complicated wasn't really a word that properly described the situation but in that moment as he stared at her, watched her cry and felt her fear, it was the only word he could think of. If it had been just the two of them and her shit excuse of a husband it would have been so much easier as far as Cepheus was concerned but it wasn't just them. It was also Priya and even though Cepheus wasn't entirely sure if she was his or not, he did not want to see her in a position that put her in any sort of harm or disrupted her world in any sort of way. He didn't want that for her or for Europa and yet here they were.
"You have nothing to fear, Europa, do you hear me? I realize that at this moment everything feels very overwhelming and incredibly uncertain but you are not alone in this. I am here. I will always be here and I am not going to let any harm come to you or to Priya. We will figure this out. Right now though I need you to breathe before you pass out or something happens to you."
For several long moments Cepheus just stared at her and as much as he didn't want to, he couldn't help but grin at the implication of her words. Did this complicate the situation even more? Of course it did. She was married to a high nobility family and he was royal. If this got out - he didn't even want to think about the reaction his parents were going to have but at the same time he really didn't care. He and Europa were going to have a family of their own. An actual family.
"Are you - does that - is this -" Cepheus couldn't help the happiness that leaked into his voice or the grin that was threatening to spread across his face. "I need you clarify that statement for me."
