"No, he hasn't done anything," she assured him, letting him direct her to a seat. She leaned forward on her elbows and buried her hands in her hair. Most of the time, something like this would be an act to manipulate someone, maybe Parmesh, maybe someone else, either to get something or have something handled for her; Merlin knew she'd manipulated her husband to get her away about a lot of things. She'd manipulated Cepheus in the beginning, too, before she got serious about him. Before she realized what they had was real, and that he loved her. It was funny, but finding out he really would do anything for her had actually be the thing that forced her to stop trying to get him to do things for her. Cepheus was different. Everything about him was different. The way he treated her, how the only thing he expected from her was to be present with him when they were together, the fact that he was protective, and only ever asked her to leave her husband because things were bad. Because Parmesh was bad. She didn't want to listen because divorce was...unheard of. But she might have no choice now.
"I'm pregnant," she said lowly, the first time she'd admitted it out loud, even to herself. Europa couldn't be sure that Cepheus had heard her even though he was right next to her, but the words were out there in the universe either way.
