Ginny bumped the door shut with her hip and headed towards the sitting room, looking appropriately bashful and shame ridden. She knew she had messed up and could only hope that her mother wasn't too upset with her. That somehow, the joy at the idea of an upcoming wedding somehow negated the fact that her own daughter had (unintentionally, of course) excluded her from the announcement.
"Hi, Mum." She said a bit sheepishly as she entered the room. "I um...Sorry." She said immediately, needing to get that out of the way. "I'm so sorry. Harry and I didn't mean to...I don't think he realized that the Queen was going to announce it immediately and then--" She was avoiding the part where the actual proposal the Queen had announced had been a joke. It hadn't actually become official until a few hours later. "You should've been the absolute first to know. I'm so sorry."
