Characters: Susan Bones, Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott and Stephen Cornfoot.
Setting: January 16; IS lounge.
Rating: PG.
Summary: Susan overhears some information that may be useful to the DA.
Only a day after its opening the new IS lounge was already the subject of much speculation. Susan wasn't entirely sure what to think of it and had purposefully stayed out of the discussion, but as one of the two IS members in the DA she had felt obligated to at least show her face and see what it was all about. The rumours of the lounge having its own snack bar could be promising as a means of procuring food later if they turned out to be true, and it was with that reason that Susan had made her way towards the new lounge immediately after classes that day. She didn't feel that her role as a spy had been all that useful so far, though she had been invited to Tracey's party during the holidays, and some more socialising might help bridge the gap and win her colleagues' trust. Seated in one of the big chairs in front of the fire Susan was mostly obstructed from view, and with her books spread out on her lap it was almost like being in her own Common Room, with the exception of there being a lot less people to disturb her. Susan felt briefly guilty for feeling relieved by this fact - while this was the IS lounge now, the room wasn't technically supposed to be theirs, and it didn't help that both Hannah and Ernie were Prefects and thus stripped from the privilege that she was now enjoying. Flipping through her Herbology text, Susan let out a sigh, freezing in her movement as several voices drifted in through the doorway, one of which she hadn't heard a lot of since they had returned from the holidays. Glancing briefly around her chair, she settled back into her seat, deciding to stay quiet. With Zabini there it didn't seem like a good plan to alert anyone to her presence, and in any case she was just working on her homework anyway. |
