NEW ORLEANS, LA -- A fire broke out Thursday morning at a local nightclub, gutting much of the interior and threatening its neighboring buildings.
Lucky Pierre's, known for its burlesque and drag shows, was set ablaze during the early hours of July 10, 2016. Firefighters arrived not too long after, but the cause of the fire is still unknown. Owners of the club say the damage is extensive, though they have not yet been allowed on the property to see exactly what will need repairing.
Fire Chief Timothy McConnell said that the NOFD is expending every possible resource it can to locate the cause of the fire, but so far they cannot rule out arson.
Buildings surrounding Lucky Pierre's received minimal damage due to the quick actions of the NOFD.
No one was inside the club at the time of the blaze. Stay tuned to NOLA News Now for more updates as they become available.
What the kine don't know: After news of the fire spread, each of the local faction leaders -- Laveau, Savoy and Meunier -- conducted a headcount of their most loyal followers. Laveau was stunned to find that one of her top advisors, a Gangrel named Thomas Dubois, was missing.
Through much investigation (not difficult for a Nosferatu of Laveau's age and abilities), it was quickly ascertained that the fire at Pierre's was caused by a Kindred meeting their Final Death via the rays of the sun. Rumors abound as to who or what the cause of Dubois' death was, but so far there is little evidence.
Savoy has offered blood dolls to stem any ill will from Laveau and sworn that he will root out the source of Dubois' demise, in order to prevent tensions from bubbling over into something worse. Laveau has not accepted any of Savoy's attempts to placate her, instead drawing her own back to the Ninth Quarter and forbidding them from entering the French Quarter for the time being. She has locked down the borders of the Ninth Quarter and is heavily interrogating anyone who dares cross them.
How this can affect your character: If you are a member of Laveau's faction, you are now confined to the Ninth Quarter. This doesn't mean that you can't move into another area, only that there may be heavy consequences for doing so if caught. It's difficult to get one past the Queen of Voodoo, so best pray that Baron Samedi is looking favorably on you if you try.
If you are a member of Savoy's faction, you may be called upon to speak to the man himself at his hotel if he feels you may have been in any way involved in Dubois' death. Savoy's people will be carefully watching for any signs of trouble in the FQ, and even the smallest of transgressions will be dealt with harshly.
If you are a member of Meunier's faction, you can either sit tight in the Garden District or you can venture into the FQ to glean what information you can. Rumors and wild speculation will abound, and you will be watched -- and possibly forcibly ejected from the Quarter if you look at someone the wrong way.
Your character could potentially have known Dubois; if you wish to go this route, please contact the mod for details about him, and also have an idea of how/why they knew one another.
Overall, everyone will be on edge to know what exactly happened. Check on your loved ones, attempt to investigate the mystery, or take a seat to see which players make an appearance.
