OWL: Miles Bletchley to Stephen Cornfoot Date: 28th November, 2001 – Still evening Characters: Stephen Cornfoot, Miles Bletchley Location: The Sky Private/Public: Private Rating: PG for now Warnings: None Summary: Miles isn't so sure that he's going to get a reply but he knows he needs to try.
Miles wasn’t sure what to do.
He knew he had to apologize for the ‘revenge’ comment but that was going to be very hard unless Stephen would give him the time of day. Judging by Lilith’s mood, he doubted Stephen would be in a mood to talk, let alone in a mood to have Miles rant at him about not needing his help.
He still wasn’t sure why Stephen had done what he did; why he’d gone to see Lilith but why he wouldn’t even see him. It didn’t make sense unless Stephen cared which seemed unlikely at best considering Miles’s last words to him.
Fuck.
He groaned and pulled a piece of parchment towards him. He hated apologising.
Stephen,
Firstly I’m sorry for the comment I made the other day. I only said it to get you to leave; I was hurt was hurts maybe maybe hurt.
Secondly are we going to talk about what you’ve just done or why? I know you must have gone off at her or she wouldn’t be sending me owls but are you okay? That’s all I care about.
Please Don’t shut me out. Please. I’ll meet you anywhere.
Miles
Sending it off, Miles wondered if he’d even get a response and didn’t hesitate to reach for the whiskey bottle. The idea of Stephen not wanting to see him made him sad for reasons that even he couldn’t ignore.
