"And I've lost many; I lost my first lover to the war; I lost my friend to it. Those who didn't die when I was young, have died since then, like my parents," Regulus answered. "I understand what loss means, a lot better than you every will. You don't see me crying. Toughen up or the next time you find yourself in that circle, it could be the last. You can think I'm being insensitive, but I'd rather have you dislike me and be alive than have you like me and be dead."
Regulus looked at her, and smiled at her reaction. "Don't be so quick to dismiss the option. You're a Slytherin. Use anything and anyone, even a half-blood Gryffindor named Potter. You don't have to like him, only use him." Regulus sighed. "Again, choices. Pro-Ministry might not keep you safe, but if you survive, then you're set for life. You pick a pro-Dark Lord and you can be safe for now and a widower or even in jail later. No regime of terror can last forever, that's history."
