"Alright, thank you." This wasn't her usual beat, the street was where she preferred to be, where she had been for years. Pounding pavement day in, and out. Things changed, just like the times did, and now she was here, working a very high profile area, and with a few adjustments that were taking time to get used to. Like men posted outside of the door, ready to do their bidding. That was new. A partner that was new to the force, that was the newest thing ever. Usually it was Anais that was more the rookie, this was her first time in the captains chair. It was strange, but it had to mean that the Agency had faith in her, and her abilities. Whatever she could do, to keep from blowing this opportunity, she was going to take it. "They are taking special precaution with our kind. They worry about a mob incident, up a few thousand miles in the air. Though your kind, they might just think the rapture had come about." Gabriel had that in his corner, the fact that his kind were so often looked upon by humans, in a favorable light. They weren't just monsters in the night, who wanted to take advantage of the weak, like say the vampires. "Good, and jet lag is a bullshit excuse, just so you know." Anais countered his smile with her own. At the moment he seemed to talk a good game, but the real test would be in the morning, when she was knocking on his hotel room door, demanding that he drag his ass up, and out of bed. If he surprised her, and was already waiting, ready to go, then she would be impressed. Still, it wasn't anything she planned to hold her breath over. "I would suggest eating. Amsterdam is a place, better traveled on foot, and it can suck the energy out of you real quick. Gas up before you go, even if it's something light." Anything that would sustain him for a few hours.
Seraphs might not have to eat, she honestly didn't know, she had never been inclined to read about them. Not just go to the local book store, and grab the first novel she saw, because it would mean it was written by a human, and would be nothing more than Christian garble. The real information was a little more tricky to track down, but the OSI always had their connections. "They think, or rather hope we'll be like minded, just as we are like feathered. Or they just hope we'll both be able to fly away, if shit hits the fan." Serpahs could fly, she knew that much, and while her wings might not be as impressive as the sometimes called "angels", they would none the less get the job done. "Yup, that's me. We have the ability to glamour our wings as well. The magic might be different, but it's the same result." No one saw her wings, unless she wished them to, and since she wasn't the biggest fan of long sleeved shirts, she relied heavily on the ability to glamour, which she was born with. "So why did you join the OSI? And do you prefer Gabriel, or will Gabe do? Or is it Agent Desmarais?" They really ought to maintain some level of professionalism on the first few days of this partnership, but his surname was a bit of a mouth full. And calling 'Gabe' was so much quicker, especially if they found themselves in a tight spot, and needed to make a quick get away.
