Each race tended to have their secrets, their lengthy (sometimes shrouded in secrecy) histories and their sordid pasts - it was what made them all so fascinating to research. It was why people made entire careers out of tracing the lineage of certain races and putting what they found on to paper. There were always, of course, those few that didn't want their secrets shared, didn't want them put out for just anyone to learn. Those were the types that probably wouldn't have reacted positively to Ian telling her so much; they probably wouldn't even have thought much of Eden asking so many questions when, really, she just wanted to learn more, to understand him better. "I'm sorry," she apologized with a smile, "I didn't mean to turn this into twenty questions tonight. Sometimes I just get a bit caught up in things that interest me, I don't realize I'm being nosy." He didn't seem to mind, but then it couldn't hurt to apologize just in case he was being polite. Eden didn't really want him to feel like he'd been grilled all night. "I do, actually," she laughed, nodding a bit, "I don't mean to, it's sort of a natural thing. I've heard all sort of cracks about 'Mother Earth,' but I suppose there might really be something to it." It was her first reaction to nurture, it was hard-wired into her DNA it seemed. "Oh I do, I drive her bloody mad. But she does the same to me, so I suppose we break even," she assured him with a grin.
Eden had never had a first date go so easily, one where the conversation had naturally flowed, where it hadn't required any work whatsoever. Had they even had a single awkward moment of silence the entire night? She didn't think so and that itself was a rarity. They were both being a bit cautious, which made perfect sense given their histories, but it seemed that fate didn't seem to mind, that it would just continue to push them together in spite of everything. Had she been thinking about it, Eden should have been terrified to be feeling so much so quickly, but Ian was so easy to be around that it hadn't even dawned on her yet just how much she was enjoying herself. Later, when she had a moment of 'bloody hell, I really like him', then maybe she'd have a moment or two of panic. Her heart was still understandably tender after Shannon had stomped all over it and she wasn't eager to endure that again. "Yeah, of course. And you do the same. My schedule can get a bit weird sometimes, it all depends on what Jaida is doing of course, so you let me know if it starts to drive you batty, yeah?" Things were slow at the moment what with the 'outing' still terrifying some people into hiding, but eventually business would start to boom again. Sometimes the only way to ensure that the person you were seeing really was ok with you having a loony schedule was if they had one as well. "Out sounds good," she nodded in agreement; out was always fun, it meant dress to impress and enjoy yourself out where other people can watch in envy. "Cafe visit sounds brilliant. You'll have to take me to your favorite one." Eden leaned down to pick up Charlie, who'd been pawing at her ankles for a good minute or so, settling him down into her lap. The little furball crawled forward just a bit, letting his front paws rest on Ian. "Looks as though you might have to schedule a second date with this one as well," she teased.
