“Do you? I never knew that the moon had an effect on shifters.” Of course, prior to meeting Ian, she hadn’t known even half of what she knew now about his race. In their world, you had to leave your mind open to taking in whatever you could about the people around you, to learn whatever you could about the other types of supernaturals running around. Eden already knew that every time she saw a particularly lively dog from now on, or any animal really, she’d have a split second where she’d wonder if maybe there wasn’t really a shifter in there – especially during a full moon. “Are you stuck in whatever form until the next morning?” Weres were always out for the duration of the night, stuck in their animal bodies until the sun rose the next morning; from what Ian had said, it made it sound like things were the same for him. And if that was the case, it had to make certain aspects of his life a little difficult – it would be tricky to explain why a dog was running about the hospital in your scrubs. “Oh no, I could never date a were. With everything they go through? I’d be afraid I’d mother-hen them to death,” Eden admitted with a soft laugh. She couldn’t stand to see people she cared about in pain; dating a were would have had her playing nursemaid every time a full moon came around; that tended to suck the romance right out of things.
“Good,” she smiled up at him from her seat, lips more flushed than usual from the kiss they’d shared, “that was my goal, after all.” But it was an expression of more than just gratitude, it had also been a response to the attraction she was feeling towards him, a reaction to the connection it felt as if they were making. It was far too early to be counting all of her chickens, but Eden couldn’t help but feel as though there was real potential here in whatever she had started with Ian. She moved over to make room beside her, the chair just large enough to fit them comfortably side-by-side, even if it was a big snug. His arm settled along the back of her chair, fingers resting just barely on her shoulder, and Eden settled back against it. “I’ve always been fond of the taste myself, though most people think I’m a bit nutter for it. Just the slightest bit of smoke…it’s very sexy, I agree.” It added a bit of a bite to a kiss, a little bit of something sharp. She angled herself just a bit, enough so that she could look up at him when he spoke again, her body snug against his side, “I’m glad you’ve enjoyed yourself….so have I.” It was a bit terrifying to be dating again so soon after everything with Shannon had ended and it would be a lie to say that Eden wasn’t slightly terrified by how easily Ian was making her feel things for him. He wasn’t even trying, it seemed – he was just being himself. He was far too at ease to have been putting on some kind of a front for her. Or, at least, she hoped that was the case; it was what her guy told her. “I want to see you again too. And I know you’ve got a bit of a hectic schedule what with your job at the hospital and your side gig saving damsels in distress,” she joked with an affectionate grin, “but I’m willing to work around all that. You’ll let me know when you’re free, yeah? We’ll take one of those ideas that we’ve come up with and do this again.” Especially the kiss part, they’d definitely need to repeat that; it had been too good to be a one-time occurrence.
