"It's a tricky line to be on, depending where you are. If you're going to be around people, you have to pick something non threatening. If you're around other animals, you want to be the badass, don't you?" That was the most important thing to keep in mind, and never, under any circumstance reverse the occasions. "It's risky, there is no doubt about that. I've been lucky though, never had a gun drawn on me, or anything like that. Been threatened by a wolf once... here. It was tracking something, and I got in it's way." Luckily, Ian had been smart enough to back away from the beast, and leave it to catch it's meal in piece. It hadn't mattered how big he was in dog form, next to a wolf he didn't stand any chance at all. "That's the best thing to do." Which it was. You didn't want to tangle with a were at any time. "I shift during a full moon as well, uncontrollable. I'm not vicious, or anything like that, just as I would normally be." Turning back into a human just wasn't possible. So, on those nights, he would often curl up on his bed, and watch television, or if he were unlucky enough to have to work, he could clock in, assign himself something that would keep him well out of sight from anyone else, and go up to children's ward, and sneakily visit them, and cheer them up. The kids were all smart, they all knew to never mention seeing the big black dog around, because that meant he wouldn't come back again. "I'd advise against ever dating one then." Nor working in the medical field. Ian had needed to gain some level of comfort witnessing people in distress. It had been the only way he would have been an effective nurse. You really did have to let emotions slide away, and let logic take over. Otherwise you wouldn't be able to help them in the end.
He nodded, "Oh, it was well expressed. Very well expressed." As Eden shifted over in the chair, he eased himself into the remaining spot of cushion. Thankfully, Ian was built like an ironing board. No curves to him, and very little from back to front. "It's one of my favorite things to taste on a woman. The mix of smoke, and alcohol. It's very sexy." The combination was fetching, but so long as it was delicate. Even though he himself smoked, he didn't smoke like a chimney, and didn't exactly take well to the idea of kissing a woman that tasted like an ash tray either. Eden didn't, it was just a touch of tobacco. He laid his arm over the back of the chair, giving them both a bit more room to work with, while his fingers rested just at the curve of her shoulder. "I've had a really great time so far. Dinner was great, the company, and... this of course. I hope you know I was serious when I asked you out for a second date. I want to see you again." They had been planning things all evening long, date after date, but he wanted to make sure that she didn't doubt his intentions, and think that he had just been going with the flow of things, and never really meant to make good on those propositions.
