So far, the two seemed to be completely on the same page – which was always a good thing. Tonight was most certainly a date, their first, and both already seemed completely open to the idea of having more. In fact, they’d nearly gone far enough to plan them out this far in advance. Or maybe it wouldn’t be too far out? They’d already tossed the ‘three days until a phone call’ rule, so who was to say they’d feel the need to put some ridiculous time frame between dates? Eden was enjoying herself, seeing Ian again soon wouldn’t be a hardship for her. It wasn’t everyday you got to have dinner with a funny, attractive, slightly weird man that you found yourself genuinely interested in. Even if nothing more came of it, they were having a good time along the way. “Right, absinthe and a cooking lesson. We’re going to have a series of interesting dates, aren’t we?” she joked with a smile – they were certainly setting a precedent for themselves.
“My parents are still in London, yeah. I don’t think they’ll ever leave. Not unless things get bad enough to force them out.” There were some people who would just never give up on their hometown, never move from where they were born and raised – Eden’s folks were like that. They were perfectly content in their little lives and she hoped with everything in her that nothing came along to ruin that for them. “I’ve only been there a couple of times since I started working for Jaida and I have no real idea what it is they do, but it all seems very serious,” she admitted with a soft laugh. She’d never really asked Vivian, it wasn’t really her place to do so. “She’s bloody incredible, truly. I’d never seen a muse at work before I met her. The first session she let me sit it on, it was…crazy. It was this painter and he was just sitting there in front of this blank canvas, twirling his brush and waiting….and then Jaida came in and sat down, focused in on him and within a few minutes he was painting away like mad. It was brilliant to watch.” Jaida had stayed for hours with the client until he’d finished; the piece had gone on to be his best selling work up to that point. Since then, with her help, he’d surpassed event that. “It’ll be a were, yeah. There’s a team that works for Vivian, has for years, they’re a pretty good group of blokes. I can’t imagine which one will end up sent all the way out here.” They’d probably end up liking it, though, to be surrounded by all this nature for a change. “Really? I didn’t know that. I guess I’ve never seen a shifter and a were interact. But I do owe you a saving of the life, so I’ll be sure to put in a good word with whomever gets babysitting duty outside,” Eden assured him with a wink. She’d give Dom’s boys a stern talking to if need be, she wasn’t going to let them treat any of her guests poorly for any reason.
She couldn’t help but laugh lightly, “My best friend is a were, actually. But she’s really lovely and I don’t honestly see how anyone could dislike her. I mean, she does have a bit of a big mouth, but it’s really all in her charm. She wasn’t born a were, though, she was turned before she came to work for Vivian. And…um….my last ex is now a vampire, so…I’m batting a thousand.” Eden didn’t honestly have a doubt in her mind that Ian would like Juniper or that her best friend wouldn’t feel the same about him in return if they ever met. Shannon, on the other hand, she was hoping he and Ian never crossed paths. It was bound to be nothing but messy if they did. “Things are pretty quiet right now at the mansion, I think Vivian and Jaida are trying to stay off the radar, so we haven’t been working any nutty hours. Let me know what works for you, I’ll fit it into my schedule.” It wouldn’t be difficult to get a night off, especially not when Jaida seemed to understand how much she needed it.
