"I think it's great, it's like wine though, some brands are just... terrible." They hadn't sampled many of the brands, only a handful, and most of them just left a horrible after taste in your mouth. So long as you knew of at least a couple of decent brands, that was really all you needed, at least in Ian's opinion. "Assuming isn't always a good way to go about things, but we weren't exactly clear with one another, I don't guess. It's a date for dinner, that's for sure." As much as he would like to say it would lead to more than friendship, it was too early to really say. Eden was attractive, kind, funny, and intelligent. There hadn't been anything about her that set off major red flags for him. There was no reason to not hope for something more at this point. It wouldn't hurt. "I think we've got the second, and third dates lined up. You did promise to give me a cooking lesson." What? It didn't hurt to fish while the odds were in his favor.
"They still live in England, then?" Scientist weren't typically the type of people who did things just to gain attention, there were so many unrecognised heroes in that field. Usually if it was fame that you were after, you tended to shoot for a career that was more in the limelight, and less under the microscope. It was a perfect place for one of their kind, if they didn't want to be found out, or have attention drawn to themselves. It was true that if his race came out now, that there would probably be a great many people who disregarded the work he had done, simply for what he was. There would be some complaint, and that alone might be enough to ruin his career. "Right, I just know it's a great big bloody building, that employees a ton of supernaturals." That was all that most of the people outside of the world knew about it. "She must be good at musing then, if she needs you to keep everything in order for her. I don't have a creative bone in my body, so I would have never thought about it." What reason would he have to hire a muse? It did make sense that there were artist out there who might need a hand. It really did make you wonder just who had used a muse over the years, what album had needed supernatural assistance, or what script. "Thanks," He chuckled. "I made friends with Charlie, but weres... I'm assuming it's a were. Vampires like to use them. Anyway, weres aren't always as warm to we shifters." He didn't know why that was, aside from maybe the whole matter of jealousy. They were part animals, and his kind just copied them. That could be a bit like rubbing their nose in it.
Ian gave a shudder at the thought. "Not to sound prejudice, but they've always put me off. I just don't like being around them. I'm not the biggest fan of vampires either, but I can tolerate them." So long as they weren't the type to immediately begin the whole intimidation thing. There was just something about a creature who fed off of misfortune, and tragedy that bothered him. "I like the sound of it. We'll have to figure out a night that works for the both of us... I'll go grocery shopping, because right now my kitchen is pretty damn bare." There was rarely the need to keep food in the place, if you weren't going to be around to eat it. "I went on a trip to Africa with a buddy of mine, and the people there were just lovely, but the smaller villages still don't have a lot of the essential things. You can't meet those kids, and not want to do something for them. So we tracked down a group that was in charge of the construction, and gave our selves to them for about a year." Eventually he wanted to go back again, and do more. Or perhaps travel to a different country, and give the same amount of time to a cause. "Rock climbing good. I'm rubbish at it." He was always tempted to shift into a lizard, and make easy work of it, when it became impossible to hang on any more. "I uh..." He began to laugh once more. "I like the dog park. I go there every weekend... but not as myself." It was a strange thing to admit to, but the place was a lot of fun, and there were always good looking women with their pets there. It gave him the chance to be a big ham, and show off to the ladies, without coming off as a creepy human.
