“Ha ha, fucking jokester,” Cal shot her a playful glare as Jun pulled the door open, giving him enough space to step inside before she closed it behind him. Showing up with a few little trinkets hadn’t seemed like a bad idea, it never was, but it had seemed especially smart when he was trying to win over his girlfriend’s favorite sister. Moving to the nearest table in the living room, Cal set aside the gift he’d brought for Jory, as well as the bundle of goodies he’d picked out for Jun and the bouquet that was meant for Victoria as well. Hands free, he could give Jun a better greeting, wrapping his arms around her waist to pull her up against him. “Hey pretty girl,” he grinned, leaning in to press a kiss to her lips, still careful not to accidentally knick her with one of those fangs of his – they were still taking a bit of getting used to. “Smells like paint in here,” he sniffed lightly at the air when they separated, the fumes wafting from the open nursery door, “been busy?” It wasn’t until his focus shifted from Juniper a bit that he realized there was someone else in the room with them, that they weren’t alone. Sometimes it slipped his mind that he had all these crazy new heightened senses until they smacked him in the face. Cal stepped back a bit more, keeping one arm looped snugly around Juniper’s waist, “You’ve got an introduction or two to make, love.”
Once his gaze landed on Victoria, it was easy to see the family resemblance between the two. The younger might not have had the same fiery coloring that Jun did, but there was no denying that they were related. “There she is,” he grinned, “the two of you certainly look like sisters.” And, since the two of them actually got along (at least it seemed that way from what Jun had told him), that clearly wasn’t a bad thing. “Nice to meet you, Victoria, I’ve heard a lot about you from this one,” he gave Juniper a light squeeze against his side, “from the smell of it, she’s put you to work back there already. Fucking slave driver, this one.” Hopefully it wouldn’t put her sister off to hear how the two of them went back and forth with one another, how they liked to give each other a hard time about…everything. “Anything I can do to help, since I’m finally here?” Only being able to be out and about at night certainly put a cramp in his style, had gotten in the fucking way of him being able to help Juniper as much as he wanted, but he was here now. That was what mattered, right?
