"That isn't the least bit surprising. I think she could make a potato shack stylish if she really put her mind to it... are there even still potato shacks? God, love, I feel so old sometimes. I find myself saying things, and these young employees, they just look at me as though I'm mental." That was the hardship of being older, but not old enough to be considered an elder. It was an odd sort of limbo to live in. "Fully lame wouldn't be good, no." It wouldn't do to completely lose that fire of hers, it would be a shame if she did. "The part is very flattering on you, love, but you know I don't mind what part you wish to play, or how you wish to look." It was a little exciting to see where her sense of fashion would take her now, it would be thrilling to watch. "I honestly can't remember the last time we went shopping together. In fact, I haven't been to a proper shop in ages. We ought to go this weekend. I can clear my evening, call a few shops, ask them to stay late for us. What do you think?" Vivian was lucky that she didn't have to leave her office to buy new things, shops often sent over samples of their latest arrivals for her to pick from. It was a nice perk, but it would be nice to just browse a few shops again.
With her free hand, she held up the bottom of her dress as they walked, pointing out little details here, and there, providing some of the items with stories of their sources, but only the ones that she herself thought would be interesting. It would be incredible dull to go through the entire floor plan, even if she knew that Jaida would be patient enough to listen, if she thought it was important to Vivian. "You have come a long fucking way. You really have. Not just from Halcyon, but from being with Roarke as well. You were, little more than his puppet, and he used you, and kept you close to the chest for his own pleasure. You've got no master now, you live for yourself, and you've got our own business, and it doesn't involve you having to take your clothes off, or just be an object to people. You use your gift, and you're bloody talented at it. You shine in a way now, that you never have... I know life with me hasn't always been easy, I'm not there as much as I would like to be, but I'm thankfully you put up with me. I'm happy you've been able to find happiness being in my life again." Lifting their joined hands, she placed a kiss to the gold band Jaida always wore. The one which read "Vivi".
