"I know what you meant," He conceded after a moment. "And I was." If it wasn't one thing clouding his mind, it was something else. Thankfully, Eden had been his distraction moments before his brother arrived, and while it was a sensitive subject, thinking back to all the good times they had together still managed to send his heart fluttering. "I was remembering the last time I was here, before I was turned." Callum would start to have those moments eventually, when he missed seeing certain things in the daylight. You began to long for it, and the restrictions of life without the son became all the more painful, and obvious. "I used to go to all the local gardens with Eden." That, he figured would be ought to explain why he had looked so distant, and in thought when his brother first arrived. Also, he hoped that it would be enough to keep him from digging deeper into it. Right now, he really didn't need to go off thinking about Eden, and what might have been. That was too often where his mind led him, and he needed to let his focus stay in the moment, otherwise, the brother's might never be able to find civil ground again.
"Yeah, that's for fucking sure." It was strange how seeing him like that had been way more haunting, than seeing him here now, a proper vampire, properly dead. Still, no pulse, and him being able to communicate with them was better than a weak pulse, and being a vegetable for a few more weeks. The brothers hadn't ever been lacking for attention before, and now that they had the fangs on their side, they were going to attract a totally different sort of bird. Shannon had already ventured out, and seen just what they could get him. Honestly, it was a bit annoying to be liked for what you were, and only for what you were. It was similar to being liked for your fortune, or the fact that you were very attractive. People didn't have to speak to you, they just say you, knew what you were, and that was good enough for them. Some nights, he didn't give a day whether the girl knew his name or not. Some nights he just wanted a meal, and a fuck. For the most part, he stuck to Vivian's whores, there were no games with them, and he didn't have to act as though they were the most delicious woman he had ever sank his fangs into. It didn't hurt that being Vivian's pet, still in a way, that he didn't have to fork out anything more than a tip to make them happy. Shannon couldn't see his brother going out, and doing the same... though, he knew that eventually he would grow tired of those blood bags, and want to find out what it was like to feed from the source. They all did, Vallis had told him, and thinking otherwise was just a foolish attempt to fight nature. "That's good," Something needed to go smoothly for Cal for a change. "There has to be a doc some where in the city." If one such doctor was going to be located, it would be in Amsterdam.
Shannon nodded, "I know, like I said, you don't owe me anything. I don't think it's just going to blow over." This was going to take some work on his behave, he knew that. "I was fucking stupid, and cruel. You don't do that, to anyone, especially not your brother. I thought I had good reason before, but nothing excuses that." He could say he was sorry until he was blue in the face, but words at this point might be meaningless. "I want you to know that I love you, and I want to make things right. If that means leaving you alone, if that's what you want, I'll do it... I won't like it, but I'll do it. I'd rather try, and help you. I've been through what you're facing now."
