Ian had nothing to worry about with her parents, at least not where his race was concerned – they’d always been the type to open their doors to anyone until given a reason to slam them shut. Now, the fact that he was the young man that had gotten their daughter pregnant? There would probably be a bit of testing that came with that; how many parents could resist the urge to push a little, to make sure that their child’s significant other was someone they felt was appropriate? And, even though it wouldn’t sway Eden one way or the other in the end, she knew they’d still want to ask Ian a laundry list of questions, get to know as much of him as they could. She wasn’t worried, though, she was sure they’d adore him. Besides, she knew that she’d have to prove herself to his parents as well, to make them see that she was worthy of their son. They’d both have some impressing to do once their respective parents made their way over to undoubtedly meet their new grandbaby. “I think so…that seems like something we wouldn’t know until later on in things. I’d like to know as well, I’ve never been good with surprises or being made to wait,” Eden admitted with a laugh. She couldn’t properly prepare for their new addition if she didn’t know just who she was getting ready for.
“No,” she couldn’t help but laugh again, shaking her head, “I don’t think it’s a title I would have much enjoyed. You’re girlfriend, on the other hand, that I will more than gladly be.” Ian made her happy in a way that she didn’t think she’d ever see again after things fell apart with Shannon, maybe even in a way that he never had when they’d been together and she didn’t want to mess anything up. “No, this will be Juniper’s first as well. She’s going to be a hilarious mum, really.” A fantastic one as well, but definitely an amusing parent to watch. “Honestly, I’m a bit thrilled that we’ll be rather close to one another with everything.” Their children would practically be growing up together. “It is…but apparently he’s taken to it extremely well. My boss, his sire, is being rather hands-on with him from what I’ve heard, making sure she teaches him properly. It’ll be nice to see him in person at the gala, to really get a look at how he’s doing. I’m sure the pregnancy is helping him cope.” From what Jun had said, Cal was thrilled at the idea of being a father – surely there couldn’t be much room for self-loathing in his life right now. “I’m sorry,” she made a bit of a face when he filled her in about Sophie’s visit, understanding from personal experience how awful it could be. “Maybe that will be it? One visit to check in and she’ll just move on.” Eden didn’t know anything about the woman to know if that was wishful thinking or not.
She laced her fingers through his when they’d drawn apart, letting him lead the way back out of the little exam room they’d claimed. “No, I’m off for the day. My boss is working on some surprise for Vivian for the gala. I was going to go over to Jun’s actually, check in on her a bit. We haven’t seen each other much since Cal was turned so there’s some catching up to do.” She was looking forward to it, to hearing from the source how things were going now. “Absolutely, I’d love to. Want to sleep in a bit? We could head out about noon…it’s supposed to be lovely tomorrow.”
