Some part of her bristled at the clear insulting tone at the mention of Beau Rosier. They weren't friends, but he was always less scathing and more considerate of her when they met at her father's dinner parties, and she remembered those sorts of things. Not enough to argue with Belmont at the moment though, "Yes, I do believe I'm a little much for him." She flipped the definite insult as if he had complimented her without pause.
Well, if that was how they were going to play then she could play. It felt good, to let the shark's smile come out, though she took another sip of her delightful drink before she responded to him. Make him wait for her, if he wanted to insult her to openly, "Oh please. Money and a name will get me anything I shouldn't have. You're familiar with this process, yes?" Her eyes swept over him, critical and dismissive all in a glance, and when she clearly found him lacking she let her eyes drift off to catch one of the waiter's eye and gestured for another drink, "I don't give a plague about scandal, I am not controlled by my family's whims." Partially true, in that her father's dismissal was not what drove her out of her city, but it certainly didn't help either.
