Blair was bored - and being bored meant that she spent more time brooding, thinking about things that she truly believed that she was better off forgetting. Just being in Glynn was an insult, one that was only made less stinging by Tuck and the biweekly show that was the injections. Her cousin being the singular bright spot in her current life, she had been agonizing over a gift that would be good enough. Something that would represent everything she wanted to express to him without being too dramatic. It had to be something beyond money - not that he didn’t mind luxury, no - but Blair wanted it to be priceless in its execution.
She had been at a loss until one evening she saw a large, pale moth land on her windowsill. Moths were important to the Aurellians in some function of their silly mythos, right? It would be fitting to see that symbol dried and dead and pinned and on display for any that had a thought about trying to deny the power of her country, of her family. Of Tucker.
There was just one piece that she needed to complete her gift - the ether required to smother the creature without harming its delicate body. Thankfully, there was a pharmacy in town, and with the giddiness of her good idea springing her into action, Blair didn’t hesitate to breeze into it like an ill omen, eyes bright and smile hungry. Somewhere, there was a bell, and her pale sterility cut through the rich earthy smell of the pharmacy.
“Hello,” she stated loudly, ready to demand help before even bothering to peruse the shelves.
