There was an undercurrent of authority in her voice that contrasted with the mostly-relaxed posture and the bare feet. Authority was authority though, she had heard it when she was young for sneaking out of bed by Nanny's and older siblings alike.

But this woman didn't have the anger of the latter or the belittling tone of the former so it didn't raise her hackles just yet. Her head tilted as she tried to place the face of this woman, but the inner debate only lasted for a moment before she decided that surely nothing that bad could happen. So she might as well play just a bit. In her experience women who were physically strong liked women like her, tiny and cute, who didn't pose a threat and should be protected. People with physical strength were usually only apprehensive of other visibly strong people, and Briar was good at playing up her short height and large eyes to that sort of mindset.
She even made her voice sound more airy, like the wispy noble girls who glided around in silks and jewels.
Besides, she was already bored in Glynn. It was so quiet, she was used to horses up and down cobbled streets at all hours and the sounds of industry in the night. Once you got out of seeing distance of the Tavern it mostly quieted down in Glynn, which was surely something she would get used to but it made her have an itch under her skin just due to the oddness of it.
"Are you asking,or telling?" She stepped a bit closer with an nonthreatening gait, a playful grin and a slight shake of her head to get a wayward curl out of her face.
