Sure enough, a couple moments later, her curious echo rounded the corner. A young woman - a new one too. She'd seen her...possibly, anyway. Briefly, if she had. New faces weren't all that common in Glynn sure, but it could take months for any new face to run across Darrow if they kept to themselves and out of the way. She didn't have time for socializing most days, even if this was a calm little town. And, she ran across everyone eventually, in some way, so she didn't much mind.
Darrow had a split second to wonder what kind of picture she painted, out this late, with her boots in hand and nothing else, but...Too late now. Wasn't like she was hurting anything, anyway. Anyone who stuck around town long enough knew enough, eventually, to write off her occasional bare-foot walks as nothing unusual. This woman, if she stuck around too, would likely reach the same conclusion. Maybe, anyway.
Ah, well.
"Evening," she returned - a brief glance showed no shine of a torc, so fair enough greeting - offering a small smile. Best foot forward when meeting new people, if it wasn't under more unfortunate circumstances. "Little late to be out and about isn't it?" Simple question, myriad of ways to answer - and, hopefully, didn't sound too much like her on the job. She tried to break out of it, when she was officially off-duty, rare as it was, but. Well. Didn't always work in her favor.
But the woman didn't look like trouble (even if trouble rarely looked it), and it wouldn't do to put a new face off her - and, by extension, the town - so quickly.
