That was unexpected, and Briar focused on the stone with a child's unmasked delight. Telekinesis? No that wasn't it, her teaching metaphor had focused too much on the earth, Terrakinetic! This was a novelty to her, she had only heard about such a thing in whispering gossip at the pub back home. The woman was surely Bound too, a real shame because of what she could probably do without it.
However, who knows what would happen if she was ever chasing Briar down for a crime. A stone cage around her would not do her well, physically or psychologically. Hopefully, that wouldn't be an issue. For a number of reasons, but primarily being that there wasn't a lot to steal so far in Glynn. Truthfully she had heard that sort of philosophy before, from both the righteous and the not-so-much, it's easier to justify things and sleep at night when you look at such a big picture that an individual's actions don't matter. But it added layers to the woman, more than just a small town lawman who liked power and saw the world in black and white.
"That's alright, you have a nice voice." It could have been flirtatious, and it definitely skirted the line, but still light and airy enough that it could go either way, "That can be either very encouraging or quite bleak you know." The woman's hands reminded her of her own for the brief moment they were clasped, rougher than a Lady's should be and no stranger to physical labor--though very different kinds of course. Briar found that she liked the sensation, and gave her a glowing smile of approval to show it.
