Briar rounded the tree and let out a displeased huff of air when she found nothing on the ground. It was definitely fresh, and certainly close. What it was she still wasn't sure, but it was beginning to seem more like a challenging hunt and that was just what she needed. A few steps back as she sniffed the air, eyes darting around the area trying to look for any obvious trails a small..mammal. Yes, definitely not a down bird or lizard of some sort, and found nothing for a moment.
The trail lead right back to the tree. So she took a few more steps back and circled it, peering up into the branches. Both Coyotes and Ravens vision far outstripped a humans, though this form was a lot shakier on color than her two legged one. So she saw the furry thing, recognized it as something she didn't recognize it, but couldn't distinguish enough detail to get close to identifying it.
But then again, she didn't need to identify it to eat it. Coyotes don't growl quite like dogs, but most who heard the huffing near growl that came from her would know trouble was usually sure to follow as she prepared to make a run for the tree to try and reach the branch.
