Come As You Are Who: Beau Rosier and Victoria Spencer What: After Dinner Smokes When: Wednesday Evening, January 3rd. After the electricity returns. Where: Rosier Manor, Smoking Room
When the electricity kicked back on there seemed to be an audible sigh of relief from the whole house. The radiators hummed back to life and the fireplaces were gently banked by dinner time. After a sharing a relatively simple dinner with his houseguest, Beau retired to the smoking room. He leaned against the side of one of the wingback chairs, smoking a faintly floral cigar and flipping absently through the yellowing pages of an old detective novel. He was in much better spirits now than he’d been earlier in the morning, the warmth of the house doing quite a bit to improve his mood. He set the book aside finally, peering out of the window towards the shadows of the terraced vineyards.
All of his doubts aside, there was something to be said for having people in the house again. Knowing that he could simply walk down the hall to talk to Viola or Victoria was a luxury he was unaccustomed to in his two years of functional solitude. Perhaps as a way to prove to himself and Viola that he wasn’t trying to be such a shut-in, he left the door slightly ajar, practically an invitation to come in, in Clovennian.
