Simon was right that a stint in the local clink hardly bothered her. It was the actual jail time that she was squirrely about, but even that was something of a fact of life, where her family was concerned. Compared to that, a night in Glynn's shitty holding cell was nothing.
She nodded, rather refreshed at Simon's protectiveness over his secrets. Unfortunately for him, Tess had heard enough gossip about what had happened at the Palace and who might or might not have been involved that she had a pretty good inkling of why the likes of Antoine Valentine might have had it coming.
