Sunflower in the morning
Who: Courtenay & Ava
What: Major Coincidence
When: Tuesday afternoon, 7/5
Where: Rosier Manor, Gardens
When Ava had been down to the garden just at sunrise to pick some flowers for Lady Viola's room, she'd made a mental note to visit it again once all the flowers had a chance to fully bloom. Like the manor, some flowers were still slumbering, and she wanted to view the garden in its full splendor. Yes, it was pretty, of course, but mostly to hunt down any and all purple flowers, be they zinnia, gladiolus, bell heathers or mums. Viola loved purple flowers most. Strangely, she couldn't find any catmint at all. It was such a pretty filler, too! As she moved under a series of rose and jasmine covered arches, with a small basket on her arm in case she found any particularly beautiful blooms that needed to grace her lady's nightstand, she was grudgingly thankful for the short sleeves on the servant's dresses here in this muggy land. It wasn't ideal, having so much of her arms bare compared to the wrist-length sleeves back in Clovenne, but neither was getting heat stroke. And whereas her first night in town, her hair had been down, and incredibly warm, today she wore her usual style of a braid pinned up along the crown of her head, and thank Clove, because the meager wind felt so good at the back of her neck. How did anyone enjoy living here, honestly? Something caught her eye that wasn't a flower, though. Ava frowned, then slowed, then stopped, staring down at something strange on the ground. Tilted her head one way, then the other, trying to make sense of the strange little... monument? She wasn't sure what to call it, honestly. Ava crouched in her dress uniform, the plain black skirt pooling on the grass around her, and squinted at it, suspiciously. "What on Earth..." Just then, a fat, fluffy bumble bee lazily floated right in front of her face, on its way to a honeysuckle and ignoring her entirely, but Ava didn't know that. She gasped, and meant to jump away to flee, but stepped on the hem of her dress instead and instantly fell right to the ground from her crouch with a little squawk of surprise. Though the bee had since moved on, she waved wildly at the air around her head, glancing all over, expecting it to attack from any angle. "Shoo! Shoo!" |
