Linden actually smiled, albeit briefly, at the Major's observation.
"Isn't the the true distinction between the politician and other men? Some of us have the stomach for war, for medicine, for art. Very few have the stomach for the scathing pressure that is loud men and their loathsome opinions."
He waved his hand. "All that to say that were Lord Rosier inclined, certainly he would do a remarkable job. Then again... wouldn't all men, were they so inclined? It may disappoint his father, but as the young Rosier lacks that inclination, then there's nothing that can be done. To press the issue would be to further fray the boy's nerves."
