Re: Court & Linden | The Way to Rosier Had I been in Belailles, the Senate would have had to find a different regiment to put down another colonial revolt. The cycle would be the same save the battle report would read "No Survivors" instead. But Court didn't say any of that. He'd promised Vi he wouldn't, not to mention waxing philosophic about the futility of the various wars of empire wouldn't help with anything. He guessed it wouldn't even make him feel better.
The change in subject was a welcome one and Court brought his eyes up, still not looking directly at Linden, but gazing out at the beautiful farmland as they exited the town proper. His response was accompanied by a little smile, "Oh yes. Lord Rosier is the model of decorum and quite gracious. Seeing what a good and proper young man he's become makes me regret the...", he paused searching for the best word, "indelicate way I treated him when we were younger." Knowing the rumors swirling around Beau and how many of them were true, he didn't care if this nonce from the capitol thought it odd he would consider Beau proper or good. Beau was a prince and no one was going to easily change his mind now that he'd seen it himself.
