Luke's chest had finally unclenched by the time that Winnie rose and went to get the necessary paperwork. He felt much better knowing that they would be out of here soon, so they could go back to the relative safety of the hotel. Away from the pervasive, bustling worry of the guards and deputies around them. Whatever had happened, it hadn't been expected, and Luke instinctively wanted to put some distance between them and wherever the blast had come from.
He was so focused on his own relief that it didn't occur to him until after Winnie left that Simon was upset about something, and he tilted his head as his brother disentangled himself and got to his feet again. "I dunno, I just grabbed some from the bag," Luke said helplessly, clambering to his feet too. "Why? What'd I do wrong?"
