Re: Llewellyn + Bellamy | Early evening
After receiving his blessing, sleepy Declan wiped his wet, chubby hand on Allen's neck, popped it back into his gummy mouth, and burrowed his ear against the Marshal's shoulder. Allen raised an eyebrow when the moist, clammy baby hand touched his skin, but as the babe settled in against him, he melted. Worry for the child dropped from his shoulders and from the corners of his eyes, and paternal, protective peace replaced it. Even though the child wasn't his, feeling Declan's warm, soft weight in his arms gave Allen a second-hand experience of a future he still hoped to have.
With typical Clovennian composure, Allen answered Calvin's question. "There's no need to unsettle him. He's not big enough to be heavy yet. Lead on: I ought to know where to bring other children I might find, don't you think?"
