"Well, I can't imagine spending that much time dealing with drunken fools," Fiona remarked with a small, amused smile. She counted Luke among those, absolutely, but she had a lot of patience for that particular fool, at least when he wasn't drunk. There was something endearing about Luke. There had always been, and he had even become family, after her marriage.
"But I ought to get going," she added, rising to her feet and frowning at how faint she felt. Fainter than the Fade usually made her. She gave the other woman a small smile to immediately smooth over that frown. "It was nice meeting you, Bree."
