Just watchin' and creepin'
A normal Wednesday night would not typically find Julius out past midnight. As much as he loved a good party, he loved sleep more, especially in the middle of the week when he'd have the usual daily duties to contend with in the morning. But the music at the jazz club had swept him away to the point where he'd completely lost track of time.
Or maybe that was the alcohol.
Since he didn't want to stumble into the Belmont Manor like a common drunk, he'd taken a round about way home to sober up. The rain did the rest. He'd come up on the train station, and was about to light a cigarette when he realized he wasn't the only one around. It was a bit late for a nice looking lady to be out waiting on a train platform, wasn't it? Julius put the pack of cigarettes back into his jacket pocket and pulled his coat tighter as he slipped into a shadow to creep in to get a closer look.
It was then that a pair of headlights illuminated the platform. Julius had to take a few quick steps back to remain hidden. No matter, everything he needed to know he caught when they made their introductions. Miss Viola, the driver had called her. Interesting. Very interesting indeed.
That was all he needed to hear, for now. He supposed he could stick around and gather more information, but he'd already stood in the rain longer than he'd like. If he was going to be tired tomorrow, he didn't want to be sick, too. He slipped away as quietly as he'd come.
