What: An evening at Antoine's
Where: Antoine's
When: Friday, April 1, evening
The Braddon study groups were all Calvin's project, but Deryn had still stuck around for the first one. If nothing else, she ought to know of what was happening in her parish, and she wanted to see Calvin upon his return from Castyll. Both of these things accomplished, and after an interesting study session, she left the Temple to stop by her apartment across the street from it.
It was too long since she had taken some time for herself, and she was worried that it might begin to show. So tonight, she had resolved to do what she had meant to for a few weeks now - that was, visit Antoine's Blues Palace. She still had a couple of Clovennian dresses in her closet, from functions she had attended in Castyll. But she only wore those if she had to, and a visit to the local jazz club hardly counted. Still, she could make an effort, and she changed into a smarter pair of dark blue slacks, and a sheer red beaded top worn over a camisole. If anyone saw fit to pin feathers to her top, then so be it, but she would be on the lookout.
When she walked into Antoine's, she took it all in curiously, almost clinically, as she made her way to the bar. A glass of dry, local white wine enjoyed on a bar stool suited her perfectly as she surveyed the room, and the people in it. The long-haired, gold-skinned Aurellian crooning on stage. The rest of the staff, be they band, bedmates, or otherwise. And, of course, the other patrons of the establishment, whether they were at a table, dancing, or along the bar with her.
