When he didn't push her away--when he seemed to welcome the contact, Briar felt a sense of relief she hadn't been expecting. Physical affection wasn't given out to any of her siblings readily from their parents, it was one of the few ways they all seemed to be equal. It just wasn't the way of a family like theirs, but that didn't mean she didn't like it. It was just one of those things she learned to do without until she started hanging around street kids who had no idea of personal space because they never got to have any. So she stayed close and teasingly bumped into him with her hip, the grin staying on her face.
"Any job you walk away from is a success!" She corrected proudly, there was a follow-up bit about walking away with heavy pockets but that didn't really apply here so she kept it in.
That was a good point, things could still not going as she wanted them to. Beau would definitely be mad, but Tucker may not even realize he was being framed. But it was still worth it, for a taste of what used to keep her going, "Maaaybe. But I still had fun, and it was nice to know I still could." Another gentle hip-bump, "We make a good team Kelly, thanks for coming along." Briar didn't need him, in that she could have done this without him, but he made it better, and if it did go off as planned? Not having someone to share it with would make it almost moot.
