"I also think the horses can be endearing. From a distance. Don't read too much into it." That was a damned lie, even if the sentiment wasn't. Kelly did like her after all. Wouldn't do to encourage that ego though.
"And old building or not, didn't he spend a fortune renovating the place?" His tone was soft, half-distracted, because it was something to ask, not something he really wanted answered. He caught her her hesitation in the entryway but kept his mouth shut, choosing instead to get a look around for himself. He'd never actually been in the Belmont manor - had run around the gardens and the fields sure, but the actual house had been more or less off limits. It looked...weird, was the best way he could describe it. Kind of like some of the newer areas in Castyll. A veneer of Clovennian sensibility over a decidedly Aurellian skeleton. It wasn't the ugliest attempt he'd seen at least.
"Well, since you asked nicely..." He'd already found a corner, at the edge of the hall, that he could hide in well, just enough shadow to keep him out of sight but open enough it'd be hard to corner him. Half a step and he was on the ground, winding an eight through her feet for a moment before bounding over and disappearing into the shadows.
