Maybe his look was cooler, more distant than necessary. Kelly got where she was coming from - in an abstract sort of way. And sure, living the kind of life he was getting a clue that she had lived, someone like that? Sounded like a living hell to deal with. But he failed to see what that had to do with him, in a real, practical sense. Other people's missteps of trust and the like were hardly on him. He hadn't gone back on his word - however implied it was. That was really the only part of this conversation that interested him. "Sounds like a rough shake. You wanna change the plan, you go ahead - means the same to me either way, and it was yours anyway - but don't go putting weight on my shoulders just 'cause you don't want to carry it, pup."
He bent down to tugs his shoes into place, dragging a hand through his hair and shooting her an easy grin - vaguely amused and just this side of bored again. He'd made his point, no point in harping on it now. He had to snort at the life comment though, waving a hand to the space around them in a mimic of her motion, "This old thing?" He shook his head, the idea clearly amusing. "So, we doing this or what? No sense hanging out here all night, especially since I do actually have to get up to work tomorrow at a normal time. And unlike you, apparently, I enjoy sleeping." He stood, shooing her out of his room. Sooner they got this over with, sooner he could hear about the fallout, have his laugh, and go on with his week.
