Viola, Krishna & Calvin | Saturday Afternoon
Krishna, on the other hand, had been taking his own supplements, but nothing as powerful as the coca wine he had been seeing Dr. Rosier sneak at one point or the other. Of course, nothing was an adequate replacement for sleep, and so he'd glared at the Clovennian doctor until she had reluctantly gone to bed. He really should be taking his own advice, but he spaced his sleep out in intervals of several hours, always only napping for half an hour at most. The only time Krishna really sleep for more than those precious half hours was right after Dr. Rosier had woken up and after he had given her a brief rundown of any notable event that might have taken place.
Saying that it was incredibly exhausting was an understatement. Krishna was used to going to bed early, and sleeping a certain number of hours. The fact that all of this would end as soon as the new batch of Fade was delivered was cold comfort, because for some, it might not be enough. Only Calvin's presence helped him stay focused.
That, and the fact that his friend was still trying to determine how sincere Dr. Rosier was. At that point, Krishna didn't even have the energy to be impatient, though he did give Dr. Rosier a wary look when she leaned back against the wall next to him. He could already see the signs of fatigue, but he supposed that he looked much the same, which was still much better than the sick Aurellians around them.
"It's going to be a problem, either way. One simply affords us more time than the other." Krishna frowned after the words had left him, because that was skirting too close to the truth. He, of course, intended to find a way to get rid of the active properties of Faidoux, whereas the doctor likely sought to end the use of it entirely. Two different ways, one more final than the other, but it would also take a longer time, the way things were going. "As well as I have to be. You seem to be much the same."
"What do they tell you about Faidoux in Belailles?" He would have pressed harder, hit more directly at his misgivings, but Krishna wasn't trying to start an argument here. That would be too easy, with how worn out they both were. Besides, the doctor had dedicated an astonishing amount of time and effort to helping Aurellians even if it were all a ruse. He had kept an eye on her, after all.
